Neuro-Acupuncture

Neuro-acupuncture blends traditional Chinese acupuncture and scalp techniques with modern neurology and neuroscience. This advanced method effectively treats acute and chronic central nervous system disorders, often delivering remarkable results with minimal needles.

What is Neuro-acupuncture

Neuro-acupuncture was developed in the 20th century through observing that needling on the scalp based on modern maps of brain anatomy and physiology led to improvements in neurological conditions and general cognitive functioning. It continues to evolve today as we learn more about the complexity of brain networks that simultaneously activate multiple areas of the brain to carry out sensory, motor, or cognitive tasks.

Because scalp acupoints are innervated by the trigeminal nerve, which connects to the intracranial sensory afferent nerves and meninges, recent research has focused on these structures as the core of the mechanism of action of scalp acupuncture. Clinically, we see that this type of acupuncture can relieve pain, and increase motor coordination, sensory perception, and cognitive abilities.
