Mind-energy Healing
(Qigong)
Qigong [pronounced “chee (as in cheese) gong (as in the metal instrument)”] is a way of working with human consciousness, the subtle (energetic) qi body, and the physical body to increase well-being in all three.

Enhancing Acupuncture with the Healing Power of Qigong
Acupuncture sessions may include Qigong healing, in the form of visualizations, meditations, or movements, to increase the efficacy of acupuncture. Patients frequently request Qigong because they immediately feel calmer, more centered, and free from pain and discomfort. Qigong can be either active or passive. Sessions in the clinic may include “fa-qi,” which means the practitioner uses consciousness to gather energy and circulate it in the Qi field of the patient.
Dr. Ochs-Cooley also guides patients to use the power of their own minds to shift the nervous system into a state that leads to healing and well-being. This can then be continued at home or through classes in the community. Her practice lineage is Zhineng (Wisdom Healing) Qigong, which can be found in North America, South America, Europe, Africa and Asia.
Qigong: Cultivating Energy for Healing, Wellness, and Longevity
Qigong [literally “energy-consciousness (Qi) practices and their results”] is a modern word that describes internal martial arts that are practiced to increase wellness and treat disease. In the 1980s, these traditional internal practices were honed down into only the essential ones and explained in medical and scientific terms. Over the past several decades, Qigong has spread around the world, as many people find that it can heal illnesses and increase well-being.
Qigong practices use movement, visualization, and intention. The core aim is to activate the innate healing processes that all humans are endowed with. Long-term practice may also increase intuition, emotional intelligence, and cognitive abilities. Qigong is a part of East Asian health and longevity culture and is compatible with all religious faiths.
