Acupuncture, Cupping,
and Acupressure
Bringing together the best of Eastern and Western approaches to natural healing

Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a relaxing, rejuvenating medical therapy that can effectively treat chronic and acute conditions. We begin with understanding the root imbalances at the time of treatment, which are determined through tongue and pulse diagnosis, a detailed medical history, and understanding constitutional factors. The goal is to relieve pain and other symptoms, and help each person shift into a healthier, more functional state of being. After a course of treatment, patients can hold that new pattern of health on their own. Maintenance treatments and wellness practices are then prescribed for each person.

Cupping and Acupressure Massage
Cupping and Acupressure are complementary practices that increase the efficacy of acupuncture sessions. Cupping, using small glass cups to create negative pressure and draw up the skin, has become popular amongst athletes and others seeking faster recovery and relief from pain. It has been traditionally prescribed to prevent and treat colds and flus, skin disorders, mastitis, and headaches. Cupping is similar to a myofascial massage, as it releases the superficial fascia under the skin and promotes the flow of intracellular fluid, removing toxins and allowing nutrients to be more readily absorbed. The round marks left by cupping are typically gone in 2-3 days.

Acupressure
Acupressure is simply applying pressure with the hands or manual tools to acupuncture pathways and points. For children, people with aversion to acupuncture needles, or those seeking an energetic acupressure massage for wellness, this is a good option.
